Its been a busy month, as usual life sneaks up on me. I have been trying to get back in the grove at work after the wonderful vacation in dc. Work is in the process of a renovation and our group all got shifted to the new space while I was gone, so there has been lots of getting organized in the new space which cut into my knitting a good bit. Never the less there is a lot to share! Its a 3 day weekend here in the states for Memorial Day. Steve is down in North Carolina for his sister’s college graduation, so there has been lots of catching up on blocking, knitting, etc! (yeah!)
So lets get right to the parade! – First up, was not kidding about a blocking party!

I loved my color affection, but never blocked it (Finished Dec of last year), I love it even more now, block totally helped the shape of it, and not having it so tight. I didn’t do anything major, basically let it take the shape it was meant to have and let it drape naturally off the bed. You can also see I got around to my Slayer Shawl, Daybreak and a few other goodies!

I finished up my vacation socks on the 24th. Not going to lie, was holding out tell the start of the Knit Girllls Stash Dash. (To0 bad blocking older projects for the first time doesn’t count lol) I love how the socks came out, I rarely block my socks, but they were just to pretty. Its Bad Amy sock in the Snow Miser colorway. I did a heal flap and some how managed to get my stripes pretty darned close to the same!

I also started and finished this adorable rabbit. The Pattern is a new release of Jenna Krupar called Mario the Artistic Rabbit. I have knit a toy since I started knitting in 2008, (and that was one piece garter duck thing) so this was what I consider my first Toy/Softie Knit, certainly my first with multiple pieces that had to be attached, but he was so cute I had to dive right in. I even ordered the safety eyes from Etsy the day I saw the pattern, they are from 6060 on etsy (which btw had super fast shipping!). I used some handspun that was done for my by HeatherWB on Rav, back when I gave up spinning and commissioned out all my remaining fiber stash. Pattern was written great, and I think this little guy is going to need a friend soon!
I have got big plans for stash dash 2013, but we will see if I make it, I haven’t officially tried to keep up, but always tracked in the background and I haven’t ever come close. But the madness below is my goal, I’d love it all gone during stash dash. Most of it is stuff I don’t love to death, but there are some wonderful things in there too. I don’t know about you all, but for the most part I LOVE 90% of the things in my stash, but I always want to get rid of the things I don’t love first, leaving the stuff I love unused. I am hoping that clearing this stuff out for stash dash will make me feel more like I can use the stash I have been saving, I did toss a few gems in this pile though or I will lose motivation lol. Not to mention a few are for other knit alongs and such, such as my first year of doing Camp Loopy Projects, and there is AnotherCraftyGirl Kal in June, as well as some skeins for the whole reknitting designs thing.

As you can see I have a lot of knitting to do, I better stop typing and get to it!
