Malabrigo…(and a contest!)

I have finally gotten to work with Malabrigo Sock, (yes for the first time). I am using it for a wonderful test knit, and now I understand why people love it so much. Its soft, I find the stitch definition fanatic, and its not horribly expensive. I notice now that the hard thing about it is getting the colors you want. Seems like all the good ones go pretty quickly lol. While I have heard mixed things about it as well, I am looking forward to finishing up the knitting on these socks and wearing the heck out of them.

Ok my FO of the week before we get into the stuff your really here for (contest), I have completed the Norwegian Rose Socks by Wendy D. Johnson. I  had finished knitting the one sock, and of course, It didn’t fit. The foot part was great, but I cant get the leg over my heel. Why, because I didn’t think I needed to go up a size cuz the yarn last time I used it stretched out pretty well…well herm, colorwork doesn’t stretch. *Gasp* I’m sure to most of you experienced knitters that’s a given, but for the record, they were only my second colorwork, and the first colorwork sock. So instead of frogging, I made the socks a bit sorter (I like them shorter anyways).  I had no intention of doing the second one, except for the fact, (due to my slight obsession with Ravelry), I didn’t want to have a project half done.  So I decided to power through the second one… 3 days, thats all it took. First one took me months lol. Anyways here they are…hopefully I can find someone with skinny heels they will fit. (Oh ps, despite the poor photo, they are the same size)

Ok Now on the Good Stuff! Right?!

Contest!

I will be giving away one pretty skien of malabrigo sock yarn. The color is a great Navy Blueish (which honestly my camera/poor lighting in my room doesn’t  do justice at all). The colorway is 807 Cote D Azure. It is approx 440 yards of fingering weight yarn. *Again really sorry for poor photo, I might need to invest in a light box soon lol*   Just as a side note, I have another two skeins on the way for this contest, but wanted to post now, so once those are here, I will take photos, so There is really THREE skeins to win. The other colorways are Ravelry Red and Violeta Africana if you want to look them up before I have photos.

*UPDATE* Have all THREE skeins in the photo now, so Three Prizes to Win. To Clear up some questions, International Shipping is an Option, so Please don’t let that stop you from commenting. Also each person can only win ONE skien, so three separate people will be winning one skein each.

There are many ways to win, which is even better.  You have tell October 6th 2010 (Wed) to enter. You can earn multiple entries by doing the things listed below.

1. Comment on this post. *Remember to leave your email address, So I know who to contact if you win*

2. Joining my group on Ravelry.

3. Blogging (or other social media about my site/contest) – Send email or pm on Rav about where to find it so I can verify for this entry. (Each post is worth an entry)

4. Donate to the site, as most of you know, running a site can be expensive and trying to run it off pattern sales isn’t going as well as I expected. So any donation amount of 5 dollars will get one entry, every additional 5 is another entry. (THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT REQUIRED TO WIN)

Winners will be contacted either by email or Ravelry pm for addresses/other shipping information.

Thanks for reading all, and Good Luck!

i love malabrigo glad you finally got your hands on some!
a cheapo way to light box is to pick up a clamp light for $5 at a hardware shop and pop a CFL bulb in there. The white light can be helpful for night time photos.

I am happily already a member of your Ravelry group but I will be blogging about my Ardeo socks tomorrow. Unfortunately I am knitting them in Navy and the camera does not capture stitch definition and pattern too well.
